System

System was developed for SingaPlural during Singapore Design Week 2017. In this project, we wanted to explore how immaterial elements (like light and shadow) can take centre stage in spatial form. Moving away from conventional material-driven furniture design, the project sought to dissolve physical surfaces and let the intangible become the focus.

Inspired by Sol LeWitt’s principles of instruction and systematic logic, the forms were developed through a process of extrusion along vertical and horizontal axes, following simple, rational alignments. The outcome is a series of objects where tangible structures and ephemeral shadow forms merge, offering an experience that reflects ideas of systems, perception, and quiet interaction.
